the doors of this hotel remained closed!!!we arrived in london with 3 children at 1:00 a.m., when we arrived at the hotel, the door was closed, a poster indicated a number to call, this number never answered. We therefore contacted booking through whom we had reserved this hotel, they ended up relocating us to another hotel at 4:00 in the morning. We had tried to contact the hotel ten days before, by email, by phone and by messenger, without ever having a single response...We are not the only ones who have had this problem.I advise you not to book this hotel.

This hotel is not a real hotel, avoid it! My company made a reservation online, the rate charged was 3 times higher than that of other hotels on the street, for poorer quality service. When I arrived, the person at reception told me, without even checking the register, that my reservation did not exist (it had been made and confirmed via a third-party site). I was forced to pay again for one night as I had no other option. Payment in cash or by transfer only (we can all guess why). I asked for an invoice, the one and only employee told me he would send it to me by email. I didn't receive anything and he blocked my cell number after I contacted him again. Furthermore, the room was dirty, there were hairs on the sheets and the window did not close completely. No breakfast obviously. If the average is not 1/5 it is because the hotel benefits from the old ratings of the previous owners, which raises the average.

We canceled in a timely manner free of charge. Even after 6 weeks, no money back. The credit card company has temporarily refunded the money. The hotel objected to this. That doesn't seem serious!!! Better book somewhere else.

Attention! they are SCAMMERS! after making the reservation and the related payment, a month later they charge me a new payment (I noticed this by pure chance when I saw the card movements). I ask for explanations and they tell me they were not responsible, when in fact it was them. I am able to get the additional charge back through my bank, denying the movement. A few days after booking they informed me that they had canceled the reservation (it is always active on the booking site) for unspecified maintenance reasons of the structure, and to provide my bank details for the refund of the payment. I immediately contacted the booking help center for the refund procedure. I wonder how they manage to get certain swindlers to work through booking, they are real scammers, stay away from them if you don't want to have bad surprises

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst hotel I’ve ever come across. I booked through booking.com in February. The hotel have ignored every single message I have sent them since then, including emails. Gower House Hotel double charged me the price of my booking and have stolen $500 from me through an authorised charge. Seven months worth of contact from myself and booking.com and they have ignored us both entirely. I still have not received my money back.

Reception must be done by call. You must have a plan that works abroad...The room was not clean...dirty sheets, the desk was broken, the shower facilities were outdated. We were warned on the day of our arrival that we did not have breakfast (included when booking) and that we would be refunded but 15 days after our stay no news... neither from the establishment nor by booking.

Except the location, the rest was horrible. Unhygienic, 0 staff attention, cracked or broken furniture and bathroom. Uncomfortable and small bed, very very small room. There were two of us and they put only one towel. I paid for breakfast and it was only two cups with two packets of Nescafé and a large spoon of soup. I don't recommend it AT ALL.

Firstly, we booked the room in March as we saw the reviews were excellent. We stayed there from September 6 to 9.We received no information, neither by email, nor via the application, nothing. We arrived at the hotel on the 6th at 8:45 p.m., the door was closed. There were two numbers, one on the wall and another "in case of emergency". We called both, but no one answered, both numbers were unassigned. We also called the hotel number indicated on the Booking application, with no response. We contacted Booking support and I spoke to a person who tried to contact the owner. She told me she would call me back in 30 minutes, but she never did.She also told us that if she was unable to contact the owner Booking would undertake to reaccommodate us, and that the owner had 24 hours to respond to their message, 24 hours later, nothing.A neighboring hotel owner saw us and asked if we had a reservation through Booking. We said yes, but that we could not enter. He called the owner, who arrived 10 minutes later. Before he arrived we met a couple who were staying at the hotel who told us there was a problem with the hotel and the receptionist and then they allowed us in.Then the receptionist arrived. He didn't say hello, or sorry for the wait, he didn't take any ID, he just asked my name, gave me the keys and simply said the room was on the 2nd floor , without adding anything else.We went up to the room, which was not on the 2nd floor but on the 4th. The room absolutely did not look like the photos on Booking. We didn't feel safe in the room, or even with the receptionist. We went down to the receptionist to ask about breakfast time. He told us that breakfast was canceled, without offering us a refund or alternative, and without apologizing. We explained to him that it was not normal not to give information upon arrival, that we had stood at the door for an hour, and that he had not apologized. He simply replied: "I'm sorry" and nothing more.Spoiler alert: the day we left we saw that there was indeed breakfast, the receptionist lied.We called Booking customer service again and explained everything to the advisor: our arrival, our problems with the receptionist, and the fact that we did not feel safe and were uncomfortable. We asked him to find a solution. Another problem was that the management had changed, and we had not been informed, especially regarding the canceled breakfast, which was not refunded. In addition, cleaning was never done, the trash cans were not emptied, and only toilet paper was left in the bathroom.I strongly advise against, to avoid.
