We were 3 couples attending an event at Tobacco Dock so this lovely B&B fitted our requirements perfectly. It is located close to the DLR at Shadwell for easy access to all the main attractions. Breakfast was ample and varied. We would definitely stay again.

When it comes to hotels you would write: good bed, spacious, centrally located, varied breakfast and great rain shower. This information falls short here. The host Julian is very friendly and happy to chat, but is not intrusive at all. There are a variety of great books about London in the living room, which is accessible to everyone, and you can always grab fruit or make tea/coffee in the kitchen. Although centrally located and in a historically relevant place (here in 1937, 250,000 people demonstrated against the right and used street barricades to prevent a march against Jews), it is very quiet and you are woken up by the chirping of birds. This may be due to the small park next door, but it could also be due to Julian's gardening skills. If we could, we would give even more stars.

The location is convenient to the metro and a bus stop is right outside. The inn is beautifully decorated in period and the rooms are fabulous with a comfortable bed. The breakfast is great and Julian is a very welcoming host. We would certainly stay again.

Julian will receive you with courtesy and a big smile. The place is from the 1700 with all the charming aspects. I stayed in the suit at the top floor close to a lovely terrace, with a great view of the “Battle of Cable Street” painting. Good Wi-Fi, clean and comfortable room. Simple, but very decent breakfast in the morning. The building is close to Tobacco Docks and the area around worth exploring.
