Uninterested staff/owners. Sink clogged; not resolved, no apology or alternative offered. Soap dispenser empty. TV-ab dead. A dining room chair (take turns eating?). No breakfast, but also no kitchen options (plates, cutlery, etc. - borrowed from the pub). But no washing up options (also due to a clogged sink). In short: you can take the gamble for a one-off overnight stay and it is not recommended for a holiday stay.

Great pub in a good location, central for walks, and of course Bateman's just down the road.Decent selection, friendly staff and a lovely garden area with views....Shame about the party that arrived after we did and decided to air their dirty washing in public. Some of them left and we decided to move on too as it became embarrassing unable to not hear the claims and counter claims being made with no sensitivity to their own colleagues let alone other customers who didn't want to be around.....

Very disappointed with our anniversary lunch today. The beef was tough, vegetables undercooked, cabbage overcooked, gravy slopped over a Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes soggy. The best thing about the meal was the Horseradish sauce which no doubt was made in bulk!

Room is spacious enough and view is good. No breakfast is served. The room will not be maintained if you stay there for a number of days (4). The bed was the worst in many years. …
