Yes, this the cheapest place in town, but believe me, you get what you pay for… and less! I’ve stayed in a few hovels* in my time, but this place leads the pack (ok, joint first with a room in Laos where I slept on the floor and was bitten by ants). *In fact, hovel is too kind a description. Most important thing to consider is that, in my opinion, this could be a death trap if there was a fire, as it’s a warren of confusing, narrow, badly signposted corridors and staircases… (where is the exit? Try this door? Nope… ok, try this other door… which way did I come in?)And also, please consider the following:Carpets are dark and dank and encrusted with who knows what.Shower sealant deteriorating, yellowing & manky.Bedsheets are stained.Communication was minimal.Place smelled of paint.Radiator was blasting.Key needed twiddling in stiff lock before it would open.Door handle was hanging off.My room was not wide enough to swing a hamster in (much shorter than cats)Shared bathroom is down the hall ~ as basic as possible; with no soap. All communication seems to be done remotely by an anonymous guy who gives as little as possible. It was only by phoning the number at the door that I learned the main door code and room code and I wasn’t made aware beforehand that I needed to phone. I’d earlier emailed a few queries, none of which were answered.I was due to stay 2 nights but got out of there the morning after my first night. One more night would have been a challenge. I escaped to the welcoming friendliness and desirable room of the Windmill Hotel off Bev Market.I was awoken on my one night’s stay by drilling outside my room and the corridor being painted, with overpowering fumes seeping into my room.I rarely write reviews but this place deserves one; as nobody deserves to stay in a place like this. Do yourself a favour and spend a bit more ‘cos really, life is too short.I really should have read the reviews more thoroughly. When it received an average rating of 4.1 I thought that must be out of 5… but nope, it’s out of 10! 🙄

I had to stay here for a few months due to me being made homeless. I stayed in numerous different rooms all of which are in an absolute state. I was paying £950 every 28 days and was constantly hounded every day to leave my room so some repair could be done. I had my dog stay with me and was accused multiple times by the owner of nit walking my dog and allowing my dog to mess in the room. I was told I could take a microwave from another room which I did with the help of friends and the owner came into the room and was very aggressive. I was told not to speak to other guests, was listened to on his doorbell cameras on private conversations, had numerous drunk lads walk into my room or try my door. I was paid up until the 14th but he kicked me out on the 11th stating the money would be used to clean the carpet in my room although no evidence to prove my dog had messed on the carpet. He threatened to call the police when I'd left my dog in the room to attend an appointment, wouldn't let me use my own bedding to make it feel a bit cleaner. The curtains where always falling down, the nets have mould on them, you're lucky to get a drip out of the shower. The beds are so uncomfortable, there is no storage and the room is thar have storage the drawers are broken. It's very dated. You are neat off paying the extra for somewhere nice, with a nice warm welcome and a breakfast in the morning. If you do decide to stay here don't ring the doorbell or phone him as he'll be very rude. You have to text for the door code and then your room key code. Honestly the worst experience of my life!!

I stopped her last week and seriously where do i start ☹️☹️☹️☹️the landlord wasnt very polite to say the least and charged a extra ten pounds in order for me to drop mine and my sons luggage off before the 2 o'clock check in time the best thing is he didnt have to come out of his way all he had to do was send you a code to get into the room you were staying so i thougt that was out of order ive never ever known anyone to do that.the bedding wasn't clean it smelt sweaty and you could see it was dirty .the mattress was lumpy and you could feel every single spring. the curtain to the room window had a few big stains on them.the toilet wasn't the best it was a wooden white painted one the paint was peeling off and the bathroom was not clean plus the tiles were cracked in the bathroom.there was a group of lads trying my door and god knows what time early morning which made me too scared and nervous to sleep.the bedding was ripped on my sons bed and that too wasnt clean fresh bedding.the saying cheap and cheerful certainly does not apply to this place believe me it was dire.the photos on booking.com do not show the rooms for how they actually look if you look some are from 2012 .id advise anyone to give this place a miss i really would the only good point is its location but even saying that id pay a bit extra and stop somewhere nicer and most definitely cleaner what does have as every place you book should have and thats clean bedding its the least you'd expect.i didnt book this place but i can tell you if id seen the reviews first i wouldn't have gone a million miles near this place its was disgusting.i read the reviews the next morning and one guy a few weeks before i stopped was on about how bad his room was and pointed out loads of negative things about the place how fifty it was and it happened to be the very room i stopped in.i stopped in the Premier inn the time before in beverley and yes it was more expensive but trust me id not stop at the beverley budget inn if it was free ever again!!!!!

Our room was dirty and smelly. The bed was broken and had been ‘repaired’ with screws which stuck out into the bed. The curtains fell down whenever we touched them and there was brick rubble in the wardrobe. I understand that it is a budget hotel but we booked through BuyAGift and the stay was described as ‘charming’ - far from it!

Need to send a text to get the key code to get in. Complete confusion over the rooms. I was on the ground floor, and my windows didn't lock. Thin bedding and was very cold. Certainly not worth the price we paid.

The owner of the business is homophobic and shouted aggressively at us in the street several times that we are going to get ovarian cancer, simply because me and my girlfriend we were holding hands. 0/10 would not recommend staying at his establishment.
