The one star is only to be able to post this review.Never in my life have we experienced such aggressive and hostile behaviour from two human beings. I would very much like to warn the people staying in this accommodation that the owners are aggressive, unpredictable and frightening.Myself, my husband and my six year old son, took a wrong turn on our way to our destination. We are not local to Bridlington. With cars right up behind us and not knowing when weβd be able to turn ourselves around, we turned our car into this camp site. My husband was driving and doing no more than 2mph, as soon as we turned into this driveway we say a man and two dogs. My husband stopped the car entirely until they were out of the way of our car. We were completely stationary. I could tell immediately that this man in front of us was hostile and looking at us like we were some kind of threat. We are a young family with a child. We eventually got the car to the car park, and all we wanted to do was turn around and leave. I told my husband to wind the window down, as this aggressive man was walking towards us. Before my husband could even apologise for our mistake and explain how we ended up on this campsite, he was met with an aggressive βCAN I HELP YOUβ. Taken aback my husband started to explain what had happened. The owners reply, I can not stress enough the aggressive nature of his tone βOH SO YOU THINK ITS OK TO TURN AROUND ON PRIVATE PROPERTYβ. No, we didnβt think it was ok. Nor did we, think it was private as it was signed up to the ninesβ advertising holiday stays. We thought it would be safe to turn our car around and leave. We didnβt cause or intended any harm to anyone or anything. We were a family simply trying to make it to the beach. Baring in mind my CHILD is sat witnessing this entire interaction. The owner started shouting at my husband that he had his dogs around (yes, weβd already stopped and waited to be safely clear of any dogs). We have our own dog so we would never intend any harm. He continued to scream that people damage his property all the time etc. again, this is such a shame if itβs true, but weβd never been there before in our lives and weβre simple fellow human beings whoβd missed a turn. Aggressively pacing to and from our car I was sure he was going to either try to drag my husband through the window or hit him. In shock we verbally retaliate, asking why they were treating us like this. My husband went in to protective mode and told this man, to leave us alone (an expletive was used). My husband was in utter shock and not understanding how or why weβd ended in this awfully frightening experience. His wife then comes out, and stupidly I thought she was there to calm her husband down or be the voice of reason. But no. She started to shut their iron gate and threatened to barricade us in. Again, I remind the reader we had a CHILD IN THE CAR! Luckily we managed to get out the gate, on to the road, whilst locking our doors and doing up our windows. Hearts racing, trying to ease the worry and frightened son we had in the back. In my entire life, I have never ever been treated, spoken to or greeted like that by another person. We were innocent people who made a mistake. There is no way I canβt publicly put this experience out there. People must know who they are staying with. I am frightened for the next people that annoy this couple. I absolutely understand that they may have had bad experiences on their property before, however we were not there to do any harm in any way. That was obvious. I donβt understand why a simple conversation was not had with us, with human decency at the core of it. Weβd never met these people before in our lives and to be greeted this way is shocking! What if weβd of been looking for holiday accommodation, what if weβd of been potential customers? We certainly looked as though we could be with the respectable family car we were in. I just feel like the public need to be aware.
