Lovely little house next to a beautiful example of Alexander’Greek’ Thompson house Holmewood. You need to be happy climbing steps to get in. Great riverside walks on the doorstep and amazingly central for Glasgow. We were mainly interested in visiting the Burrell for which this is very handy. Holmewood closed when we were there but such staff or volunteers as were around were very friendly. Disappointing in terms of cooking equipment given it’s self catering. Just two saucepans and no proper knives for chopping vegetables etc. Impossible to cook for five as a result. Good omelette pan though. Far too many plates and bowls which limited kitchen space for more useful things. No milk or biscuits waiting for us which I’m used to finding in other holiday cottages. Given how much we paid this is a bit mean in my opinion. But a lovely base for visiting Glasgow nevertheless.
