We had an unforgettable afternoon at this pub in Margate! The roast dinner was absolutely incredible—tender, perfectly seasoned, and served with generous portions of all the classic trimmings. It truly felt like a home-cooked meal, but elevated. The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. They also went above and beyond for my girlfriend’s birthday, surprising us with a beautifully arranged cheeseboard for dessert, complete with a birthday candle. This thoughtful touch made the afternoon feel really personal and memorable. We were so impressed by the attention to detail and how welcome they made us feel. We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town!

Amazing food and drink. Not your regular pub, but something for a finer palate. The food is almost sophisticated, well balanced, and of high quality. Don't expect pies and the like.Prices are not high, higher than your average pub, but great for the quality offered, paired with high quality service.I'm rating this as a place to eat. We didn't stay at the hotel part, which Google would like me to rate instead.

2/10 Wouldn't recommend coming here for a Sunday roast dinner. We ordered 2 Roasts, The Beef; which was a little stringy, came with a incredibly dry Yorkshire Pudding and slightly overdone Chicken w/Stuffing (they forgot the stuffing and when it came it was so small, dry and tasteless 😭) We had high hopes for the roast potatoes but wow they were SOOO hard and overdone.... especially for the price of £20 🙅🏻‍♀️ The one carrot and gravy was a tad thin but tasted nice.To top it off ALL the glasses all had lipstick on it, but our waitress was so nice about it all and changed out glasses immediately. The atmosphere in the garden area was absolutely lovely though.

Cannot fault the food at all pork and the halibut both cooked to perfection. Lovely girls serving but whilst we would have liked a dessert plates not cleared and no one asked. 10% service charge added at till which I did.not spot. But I repeat FOOD LOVELY.

The staff here are lovely and happy to help choose a cocktail which was delicious. You can tell a lot from the clientele and staff, both of which were top class. Ben our bartender/waiter was particularly special. We were welcomed and looked after, and will definitely be back.

I was really looking forward to a great roast dinner at the George. Read some reviews. Seemed solid. Got there…ordered…and good lord, I have no idea where these reviewers were eating but it can’t have been the George. It was quite honestly the WORST roast dinner I have ever had. Iceland frozen roast would have been preferable. The chicken was anaemic, small and looked like it had been boiled not roasted (the skin was just…slimy). The potatoes…potatoes MAKE a roast dinner, and I don’t know how the chef managed to make these so dry, and chewy and oddly powdery in the middle. It takes great skill to ruin a potato so effectively. Honestly, bravo. There were no greens as advertised and every table seemed to have to ask for their stuffing. I wish I hadn’t. The sage was SO overpowering it was like eating soap. As for the Yorkshire pudding (which you had to pay an extra £1 for)? If I were from Yorkshire I would have gone to the kitchen and slapped the chef. Chewy. Dry. Sad. Aunt Bessie would be ashamed of you. So bad. The one carrot we had was okay. The gravy was watery and not much of it. I don’t know how the chef managed to avoid any flavour leaking into it, but they did. And all this for £20. Horrible. Please, for the love of roasts, don’t do this to yourself. You’re worth crispy, fluffy roasties, a deep, rich, flavourful gravy and a Yorkshire pud so light and crisp you could float away on it…But you won’t find any of this at the George & Heart.

We are at the restaurant so can't comment on the hotel. But the food was fantastic, service was good and friendly. No kid's menu but they will do a kid's burger fish and chips and sometimes pasta. Will be coming back for the tiramisu!Lots of young people diving into the cocktail menu and plenty hitting the beers in the garden.

Booked out the hotel rooms for my sister's hen party and it was a rip-roaring success. The venue is gorgeous, all the rooms are quirky, comfy and clean! The party suite is gorgeous with everything you could need. …
