We stayed in the Dom Suite on the 3-4 October as a surprise gift from my wife for my 40th birthday. Upon arriving and first impressions was that, albeit expense, was worth the money. …

I recently stayed at Who’d A Thought It and was thoroughly disappointed. Who’d a thought it would be so bad!!! Despite the hefty price of £470 for the room and £160 for dinner, the experience was far from luxurious. Both my partner and I fell ill a few hours after consuming oysters from the so-called ‘oyster and champagne bar,’ which was supposed to be a highlight of the stay. The room itself was in a state of disrepair, with the jacuzzi filthy and filled with grit, indicating a serious lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. For over £600, the experience was a rip-off. The entire place feels outdated, from the decor to the service, which was awkward and downright weird at times. The price suggests a high-end boutique stay, but in reality, it’s more of a dated, underwhelming experience that’s nowhere near worth the money.I’ve since called three times to resolve this issue and followed up with two emails, yet I have not received a single response from the establishment. This level of customer service—or lack thereof—only adds to the disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, as there are far better, more reasonably priced options elsewhere.

The pub and rooms were all great. The staff friendly and attentive. We had some lovely food. Our room was one of the newer additions. It was roomy and decorated to a high standard. We was in billecart. The only thing missing was a magnified mirror, which I know is in some of the other rooms. The hotel itself is in a peaceful, quiet location with nothing around so if you wanted to go out, then there was nothing to really wall to.We enjoyed our stay and if you have good weather the outside space is where you want to be!!

I've seen the hotel on two TV programmes, and thought I'd make my own mind up whilst visiting the area. ||The staff are wonderful and very helpful, car parking although small when functions are on is tight, but normally good. …

Absolutely loved this unique boutique hotel. Our lodge (the Dom suite) was truly unique and the peace and quiet was just sublime (we stayed two nights midweek) loved the double jacuzzi bath and couldn't stay out of our private hot tub.Not cheap by any means but you get what you pay for.Breakfasts included but lunches and dinners are extra.Breakfast was a late time window 9.30 - 11.30 which totally suited us, lunch on arrival day was very good and reasonably priced but dinner we found to be a limited menu and somewhat pricey.Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely a place to take that someone for a special treat. We definitely will be back to celebrate another special occasion.
