We have stayed at many Hampton Inns throughout the USA, but first time at staying at a UK property. This one in Canterbury is perfect. Great location in the centre of town, the building itself is built on top of an old Roman theatre and some of the remains you can see through a glass floor in reception. The building from the outside is an old building, and looks lovely. Inside the property it is furnished to a high, modern standard, expensive colourful sofas and the lighting shows off the colours. It's a large ground floor with lots of space for relaxing. The rooms are just the right size. The property is clean. Free breakfast including English sausages and bacon, plus cold meats and waffles is a real bonus. The staff are friendly, we were greeted by Irina. Car parking is a three minute walk away and is £25 a night. Highly recommend

Location is perfect, in the town centre, down a cobbled street close to restaurants and shopping centre. Can see the cathedral from the front of the hotel. Super quiet last night, didn’t hear a single sound. Breakfast was standard and staff were helpful.

From the moment we stepped into our room at Hampton by Hilton Canterbury, it was clear that comfort and elegance were top priorities. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed with modern decor that maintains a sense of warmth and coziness. The plush beds are simply divine, offering the perfect retreat after a day of exploring Canterbury. The blackout curtains and soundproof walls ensure a peaceful night’s sleep, making it feel like a true sanctuary. Every detail, from the luxurious linens to the high-end toiletries, exudes sophistication. The smart amenities, including fast Wi-Fi and a large flat-screen TV, make it a perfect home away from home. This is easily one of the most comfortable stays in all of Canterbury!

Good second stay here. Rooms are nice and location is excellent. Staff are very friendly and efficient.Breakfast is good with a very large selection of hot and cold food and drinks.Only complaint is the scrambled egg. It has a strange fishy smell. I'm guessing it's bought in as powder or liquid rather than being made from fresh eggs. This really needs to be sorted out.

Very attractive hotel near the Cathedral. You are over a Roman ruin visible from the hotel lobby. …

Clean, bright hotel in an excellent location to explore Canterbury. The main things you need from a hotel were all there. Spotless public areas, room bathroom and restaurant, quite room on 4th floor facing away from the street. …

This hotel is located on a pedestrianised street so it is quiet. The room was clean and comfortable and equipped with everything I needed. I was travelling for business so I appreciated the spacious desk and good WiFi. Breakfast was good. The service was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Awful customer service! I don’t know which was worse, the breakfast, or the customer service. I specifically remember the receptionist telling me number of times at Check in that their breakfast is amazing. Well the breakfast was sadly tasteless, at least the two bites that I got to taste.Fab location and good sized rooms. But food also matters, specially the breakfast.I have never had such a bad experience wth buffet breakfast even at any b&b. Coffee machine one out of service, another barely working. Buffet was empty hour and half before breakfast time gets over. Clearly they didn’t anticipate according to the number of rooms occupied. I could see people making a face and turning back with empty plates to just grab a bread slice since all else was over. No one seemed to care from the hotel to replenish, not even the chef or Manager, even after being told!

I've stayed here a few times throughout my residency in Canterbury. And without a doubt, this is one of the better hotels in the area. …
