I'll start by saying that I would return here; it is fairly priced and the staff are friendly and helpful - we had run out of logs for the fire and the staff dropped another bag down to us (cashless payment too) quite late. The general area is nice and scenic, there are plenty of walking paths about, and the lack of children about keeps it all fairly quiet. However, the site advertise as being very quiet, which it wasn't at night time due to the local pub (not the sites fault). There is also a hornets nest nearby, as during our single night stay we were bothered by 6 big F*****s over an inch long, making relaxing a bit difficult. The lack of proper flushing toilets wasn't a big issue for us as we only stayed the one night, but I can imagine that it would become annoying if staying longer.Overall, our stay was good, but not great,

I rated the rooms as 3 stars... obviously, you don't have a room, but in terms of private spaced out areas to camp, I would give it a 3.It's a large field, but due to long grass in the middle, camping is only around the outside out of the field, with the corners being the best part, they are occupied very early on in the day. You aren't camping next to someone, but I had the impression you had a more private area. It's advertised as quite camping, but unfortunately, there are planes flying to Gatwick overhead at 5,000 ft from the ground every 20 minutes or so.There is also a pub locally, and at night with sound travelling so well, you can hear the punters singing ABBA from the furthest point of the field. But the guests are quite and respectful. The staff were incredible, we needed more fire wood around 9pm, so had texted the number provided and they delivered it to our tent, with a card machine ready, so I would rate the service 5 stars.I would visit here again for a local cheap place to camp but overall couldn't give it a 5 star experience.

A really chill little place to camp and hang out with friends or family. It's basically a big field that the owners rent space on. Logs and a compost toilet are available. Would happily go again.

Loved the simplicity of this campsite. The owners bent over backwards to make sure we had what we needed. Peaceful and simple. Perfect for a stopover on our two-day hike 👍🤩

Liked: Lovely big site with lots of space between pitches. Had to choose your spot well though as a lot of slope. Compost toilet well cared for and young staff came round regularly and made sure all emptied and clean. …

Liked: What a fantastic place!! Plenty of room to pitch up so no one was on top of each other. The location itself is so tranquil and the lady and I think her daughter that own the place are really lovely. …
