We stayed in Elm Lodge at Shells Holiday Cottages over the new year. The Lodge was spotless, The bathroom had a lovely big modern walk in shower. The Kitchen was like new and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds and bedding were really comfy too!!We lit the log burner a few nights which made it very cozy in the evenings. The hot tub was very clean and private, and was the Icing on the cake!!We can't wait until our next stay at Shells!

I am very confused how my review was deleted and this place given 5 stars? This was not the place for me. Unable to use facilities to their full extent e.g. advised cleaning of hot tub would be at a certain time, this did not happen. Unable to use the hot tub on last full day of our stay. On our arrival we had been supplied half a toilet roll and 1 dishwasher tab to be told this is our welcome pack....was not very welcoming! Not impressed with bar towels supplied as tea towels. Everything within the property is noted in a book, was not a pleasant feeling, implied that I would steel a plate 😤. Good points....views wonderful, that's it.....let's see how long this stays up before it gets amended again?31/10/2022 update In response to the owners comments. I did stay with you. It was booked in my husband's name. Your comment to a post over year old is not helpful. My comments remain.

One of my worst experience I have ever had. The owner is making you full of stress by entering the cottage without any notice to check how many people are in. The staffs are so rude.Changing hot tub water every day and takes ages that water become warm. The owner trys her best that guests not to use the hot tub. Not enough stuffs in the cottage.I do not recommand this place as there are no facility and you will waste your time arguing with the owner all the time.

We had a fantastic week at Shells Cottages staying in Hazel Lodge. The lodge is well equipped and beautifully kept. The owner Lloyd and manager Jemma obviously have a lot of pride in the cottages and it shows. The area is fantastic for families, couples with lovely walks around and plenty to see and do. The local White Horse pub is a short 15-20 minute walk and serves lovely food and ales. Very welcoming to dogs too and we all had a blast! Highly recommended and hope to stay again.

This place was lovely and we were enjoying our stay until the owner turned up at 11:30 on Sunday to clean the hot tub unannounced, on Monday the day of departure the cleaners turned up 44 minutes before our departure time! When I posted my review the owner accused me of being rude to his staff! DONT STAY HERE.
