We went there to assist to a wedding nearby. The check-in was a bit strange from our point of view, but all other things were perfect! The staff is really great, they took really good care of our requests, the breakfast served in the room is also nice.

Lovely warm welcome from David. As per previous reviews the place is a little dated but has everything you need. Beds were comfortable (my son and I slept very well!) and the breakfast was great consisting of toast, cereal, fruit and fresh tea and coffee.

First impressions not good. Cars parked on car park covered in tarpaulin and others obviously hadn't been moved in a long time. Treads on stairs had an accumulation of dust and hair on each tread. We shared a family suite of two bedrooms and a bathroom. It appeared some effort has been made to upgrade the bathroom, but there was a hole in the plasterboard behind the door, and the bathmats had seen better days. A couple of the ceiling lights had no bulbs or covers - health & safety hazard? The rooms were cold, unable to put the radiators on. A small electric radiator was already in the room, but this was inefficient at heating both bedrooms. I stayed in the smaller room where there was evidence of damp in the corners and a large damp patch across the ceiling. There was a large crack in the wall by and around the window, there were stains on the curtain. I hardly slept, the bed felt damp, this may have been the cold as I just couldn't get warm. The bathroom light was on a motion sensor, but this kept going on, at one point every 20 minutes, during the night.David, the host, was lovely. Very chatty and friendly. The continental breakfast was plentiful, and my porridge was hot - surprising after being carried up two flights of stairs.

very comfy bed and nice hot shower. I personally love the fact that this old house is still within a family. yes is bit dated and needs TLC that is a work in progress, but serves a purpose for a couple of nights stay and is very close to the seafront.|very smiley staff and engaging. we had deluxe room.

The room was rare as it managed to accommodate a family of 5. Normally we end up having to book 2 separate rooms, so it was great being able to share one room. The bed was a little firm but the pillows were soft. …

We had a lovely stay here. We were dubious as reviews suggested it wasn't great. We were welcomed by a friendly lady, she showed us to our room which was lovely. Spacious en suite, kettle and tea and coffee, lovely exposed wall which looked lovely. We had a Chinese delivered the first night and David gave us plates and cutlery which was kind. Very chatty and friendly. Bed was a little hard but the pillows and quilt comfortable. We had continental breakfast served to our room, lots of options that we selected the night before, at the time we chose. Lovely warm croissants and French press coffee. Noise travels well, but we weren't really disturbed by it. We stayed on the ground floor, it smelt a little musty in the corridors but this is an old house! Our room was spotless. I believe refurbishments are taking place which is fab. Either way, our room was lovely and I would stay again. Parking plentiful. Thanks for having us!
