Had a great night's rest at the Stables, just what was needed for a great price. Super comfy room, not a cooked breakfast (as advertised) but exactly what I wanted. When I come back to the area, I'll definitely be staying at the Stables again.

Ideal stop for me. Not easy to find, but look out for small sign above double gates with the Stables in courtyard behind. Owners are helpful and welcoming. …

I had found myself in Nottingham and Derbyshire for a week on business hotel-hopping and I had been getting less than three hours sleep a night. …

A warm cosy little apartment. One double bed with a table and chairs, TV with the kitchen off to the side which has fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Cereal and milk was provided along with tea, coffee etc. Modern bathroom, new shower, warm and works well. Single bedroom off the kitchen, with wardrobe. Excellent cooked breakfast in the cafe next door was included which was really nice. Ideal for our overnight stay, would happily stay again if in the area. Calke Abbey entrance is 1 minute away.

Beats chain hotels hands down! A lovely location, a friendly welcome and a great breakfast in the cafe next door as well as proper coffee & cereals in the kitchenette. And two rooms for the price of one. What's not to like? A perfect stopover for our family.
