Not as advertised. Unclean and unkempt considering the price. If you look at the positive reviews you'll see that these 'people' have all reviewed the same two places - fake reviews!

Horrendous. Tried to stay here the weekend before the UK lockdown started on the 23rd March. Obviously everything was shut and people were completely unable to travel up to Newcastle following governments rules. However, the property owner has absolutely refused to move the date of the booking even though we offered to pay a movement fee and never even asked for a refund. Instead has just swiped £561 of us, even though they could have kept that and made an additional £113 of us. Truly disgusting morals and horrendous customer service.

Our stay here was nothing but bad, where do I start?! These people are CROOKS!!Upon arrival and inspection of the property, standards were pretty low. The kitchen was untidy, there was water left in the kettle (don't know how long that had been there for), there was bread rolls left in the oven which were burnt, cupboard door handles were missing, some cupboards were screwed shut, there was a lack of plates/cutlery/cups and no big pots or pans (strange considering it is meant to house 10 guests). There also was not a frying pan so say goodbye to a fry up in the morning. I also had to make a make-shift grill pan myself from a baking tray and a shelf from the oven so we could have bacon, sausages etc. The dining table is small with only 4 or 5 seats which is frustrating having people standing during meal times. It is clear the kitchen is not well looked after at all and not even to mention the FLY INFESTATION!!! The bins outside were over flowing which meant we were unable to empty the bin in the kitchen (which by the way is the only bin in the whole house!!!).There are stains/marks all over the place; on the carpets, walls, roofs, furniture. Also, very strangely there was a lack of mirrors as well, I don't think I seen what I looked like the whole weekend!!!! There was also no ironing board despite there being an iron. One of the cupboards outside the kitchen was locked which we heard SQUEEKING coming from and were almost certain there was a mouse!!!!The service from the manager was shocking. We paid £100 damage deposit which was kept by the owner due to accidental damages that had happened during our stay - which is fine, BUT, the owner asked us to pay an EXTRA £50 for a stain on the floor as one of the guests fell unwell and was sick and then changed his mind and upped the price to £100 in the matter of SECONDS!!!! I refused to pay the extra £100 and told him I would send £50 as soon as I could. When we left the property I received a message from my bank saying 2 transactions had been rejected by the bank due to SUSPICIOUS ACITIVTY - the company who owned the property tried to debit my account TWICE (one transaction of £100, another of £50) without my permission or authorisation, as a result, my account has been BLOCKED for 4-7 working days. I received harassing text messages from the manager asking me to send the £50 and after I told him he had caused my bank to block my card, he persisted to demand the £50!!!My friend had then discovered as we got to the train station that she left her train ticket in the room. She phoned the company asking to let her back in to the property to retrieve it, in which they said ONLY IF YOU PAY US THE £50 WILL WE LET YOU BACK IN?!?!?!?!?Overall, a very bad experience and definitely will NOT be returning! Thought we were getting a bargain but neither wonder it is so cheap!! Definitely DO NOT STAY HERE
