Called in to break up a journey down the M1/M69. We ate in the restaurant, did not try the hotel.Myself and my wife had starters and simple pasta dishes for mains, they were very nice.Portions were well judged to be able to enjoy a starter and a main without feeling too full.House wine was good.

Food was bland I had a fish meal that was £26 and fish was over cooked.Had mussels that were full of sand for starters. Spent £130 on wine that was well over priced. Food was bland and didn’t have a wow factor. In all honesty there’s so many better places to eat. I haven’t even had the bill yet and now I’ve seen people commenting about the service charge 🙄. I won’t ever be coming back again!!!!

Service inattentive. Food bland and overpriced. The signature soup dish was the worst I've ever had. A real shame because over the years my infrequent visits have always been more enjoyable.
