Didn't use the hotel part, just the bar. Excellent service for both food and drink. Lovely oldie worldie pub. Sunday lunch is excellent always served hot and on time.

Proper historic coaching inn, well cared for and retaining many wonderful period features. Great location in the centre of Downham Market. Would have been happy to stay longer and would definitely return.|Not really dislike, but room was a bit tight, with en-suite facilities squeezed in, as is often inevitable in historic buildings.

One of those pubs that reminds you why they are the hub of the local community. I needed a place close enough to pick up my daughter early the next day and chose the Crown, which proved to be a good decision. parking is free and good, reception (at the bar) is hassle free and swift. The hosts (Landlady, husband and son) are fantastic and the locals are friendly and welcoming. The setting, atmosphere are top notch. What also caught my attention was the fact that quite a few locals use the Crown for a pre-dinner drink or two, with the hosts knowing everybody’s first name and favourite tipple. The hotel and room are historical, with not a straight floor, wall or door in sight (chatting to the Landlady I found out the building has two postcodes as part of it used to be the courthouse!). I had the full English breakfast, which was not only delicious but meant I did not need to eat again till 19:00 that day. Overall a cracking stay and I will definitely use the Crown again.

We were on a 16 day road trip and stumbled across this hotel! Oh my was I absolutely delighted… there was one room left.. (with a bath!) it also had a separate shower but, I’m a bath person and most hotels now only feature showers. …
