Ali's Classic Stuffed Bell Peppers

Ingredients List

6 green peppers, tops and seeds removed

1 pound ground beef

1 ½ cups cooked rice

⅓ cup chopped celery

1 tablespoon grated onion

1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, divided

salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the green bell peppers and cook until softened, about 5 to 8 minutes. Drain well.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it up into small pieces, until browned, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain excess grease and transfer the beef to a large bowl.

Stir in the rice, celery, onion, and half of the tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Stuff the cooked peppers with the beef mixture.

Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish. Add enough water to the dish to create a 1-inch depth. Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the peppers.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until thoroughly heated.
