Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with Orange and Toasted Walnuts

Ingredients Needed
-
1 tablespoon walnut oil
-
2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and cut in half
-
1 medium orange, zested and juiced
-
¼ cup chopped walnuts
-
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Heat walnut oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange the Brussels sprouts with their cut sides down and cook until lightly browned, about 5 to 10 minutes. Add orange juice to the pan and continue cooking until the sprouts are tender, roughly 5 more minutes. Transfer the sprouts and juice to a large mixing bowl.
-
In a separate small skillet, toast the walnuts over medium heat, stirring often, until they are lightly golden, around 5 minutes.
-
Stir the toasted walnuts into the Brussels sprouts along with the orange zest. Gently toss the mixture and season with salt and pepper to taste.
