Cuban-Style Marinated Steak

Ingredients List
-
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
-
¼ cup orange juice
-
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
-
2 tablespoons Montreal-style steak seasoning
-
2 ¼ teaspoons lime juice
-
1 ½ teaspoons dried oregano
-
1 ½ pounds beef rib-eye steaks
Cooking Instructions
Toast the cumin seeds in a small skillet over medium heat, stirring continuously, until they become dark brown and aromatic, about 1 minute. Remove the seeds immediately and transfer to a bowl to halt the cooking process. Mix in the orange juice, vegetable oil, steak seasoning, lime juice, and oregano.
Place the steaks in a large resealable plastic bag, then pour in the orange juice marinade. Press out any excess air, seal the bag, and shake it a few times to ensure the steaks are evenly coated. Let the steaks marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or longer for a more intense flavor.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grate.
Take the steaks out of the marinade and shake off any excess liquid. Discard the leftover marinade.
Grill the steaks on the preheated grill until the outside is nicely seared and the inside remains slightly pink, about 6 to 8 minutes per side. Use an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the center of the thickest steak, which should read 145°F (65°C). Let the steaks rest for 3 minutes before slicing.
