German Frikadellen (Hamburgers)

Ingredients List
-
1 kaiser roll
-
⅔ pound ground beef
-
⅓ pound ground pork
-
1 onion, finely chopped
-
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
-
1 large egg
-
1 teaspoon Hungarian hot paprika (Optional)
-
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
Place a kaiser roll in a medium bowl of water and let it soak for 10 minutes. Once soaked, drain and press out any excess water, then crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
Combine the ground meats, chopped onion, parsley, egg, paprika, salt, and black pepper with the crumbled roll. Mix everything together thoroughly and shape the mixture into large, flattened meatballs.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in the hot skillet for about 5 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (70°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
