Ham and Cheese Quiche
Ingredients List
-
1 ½ cups shredded Swiss cheese
-
4 teaspoons all-purpose flour
-
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust, frozen
-
½ cup cooked ham, diced
-
3 large eggs
-
1 cup milk
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon ground dry mustard
-
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
-
2 tablespoons chopped pimento peppers
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together shredded cheese and flour. Evenly sprinkle this mixture over the frozen pie crust, then top with diced ham.
In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and dry mustard until smooth. Pour the mixture over the cheese and ham.
Cover the edges of the crust with foil to prevent burning.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the filling is set and the crust turns golden. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.
Before serving, garnish the quiche with fresh parsley and pimento peppers for a pop of color.
Make-Ahead Instructions:
Follow steps 2 and 3, then cover the quiche with a large piece of plastic wrap, ensuring the edges overlap. Next, wrap it tightly with aluminum foil, sealing it securely. The plastic wrap prevents the foil from sticking to the quiche. Store the quiche in the freezer.
When you're ready to bake, take the quiche out of the freezer, remove the foil and plastic wrap, and continue with steps 1, 4, 5, and 6 as instructed.
