1 (2 to 3 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces

½ teaspoon garlic powder

2 teaspoons salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 egg yolk

1 ½ tablespoons honey

4 tablespoons margarine, melted
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

Season the chicken pieces with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolk with honey and butter (or margarine). Brush this mixture evenly over the chicken pieces. Place the chicken, skin side down, into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 45–60 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and the juices run clear. Baste the chicken with the remaining butter or margarine. Just before serving, flip the chicken over and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes to crisp the skin on the other side.
