Juicy Lucy Burgers

Ingredients List
-
1 ½ pounds ground beef
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
1 teaspoon black pepper
-
¾ teaspoon garlic salt
-
4 slices American cheese (such as Kraft)
-
4 hamburger buns, split
Instructions
Combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and garlic salt in a bowl. Mix until fully incorporated, then form the mixture into eight thin patties, each slightly larger than a slice of cheese.
Stack the cheese slices and cut them into four equal squares. Place one square of cheese in the center of a beef patty, then top with another beef patty. Pinch the edges tightly to seal around the cheese, ensuring no gaps to prevent the cheese from escaping while cooking. Repeat with the remaining patties and cheese.
Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes until they are nicely browned and puffed up from the steam of the melting cheese. Flip the patties, prick the tops to release the steam, and cook for another 4 minutes until browned on the other side and no longer pink inside. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Serve the patties on hamburger buns.
