Dinogo Community Feedback and Praise
“The whole family loved these,” says Sharon H. “I took a shortcut due to time and used a packet of taco seasoning instead of the individual spices. I doubled the recipe and baked the pizzas on cookie sheets.”
“So delicious,” says Stefani Anderson. “I skipped the meat since we’re vegetarians and just added the spices to the onions and garlic while sautéing. I’ll definitely make this again!”
“This pizza really hit the spot for a light Mexican meal,” shares Sandi. “I made it for lunch today—so easy! Instead of two pie plates, I used a rectangular glass baking dish.”

Ingredients
-
½ pound ground beef
-
1 medium onion, diced
-
1 clove garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon chili powder
-
1 teaspoon ground cumin
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
-
4 (10 inch) flour tortillas
-
½ cup salsa
-
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
-
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
-
2 green onions, chopped
-
2 tomatoes, diced
-
¼ cup thinly sliced jalapeño pepper
-
¼ cup sour cream (Optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat two pie plates with non-stick cooking spray.
In a skillet over medium heat, combine ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain off any excess grease, then season the beef with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Place one tortilla in each pie plate, then spread a layer of refried beans over the top. Add half of the seasoned ground beef to each, followed by another tortilla on top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the tortillas are crispy.
Take the pizzas out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Spread half of the salsa over the top of each tortilla. Then sprinkle each pizza with half of the Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. Top with half of the tomatoes, green onions, and jalapeño slices on each pizza.
Return the pizzas to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted. Allow the pizzas to cool slightly before cutting each into 4 slices.
