My Go-To 5-Minute Breakfast
Breakfast is crucial, but when you love to sleep in like I do, mornings don’t always allow time for an elaborate meal. Sure, a quick bowl of cereal can fill the gap, but it doesn’t keep me full for long. Thankfully, on busy mornings, my go-to 5-minute breakfast—avocado toast with a twist—never lets me down.
How to Prepare My Quick and Delicious 5-Minute Avocado Toast
Ingredients
- Avocados: I get the 6-count bag so it can last me about a week.
- Bagels: I love a good plain bagel so this is how I incorporate it into my mornings!
- Hash Brown Patties: The 20-count pack typically lasts me a while.
- Cream Cheese: Avocado and cream cheese just go together so well!
- Everything Bagel Seasoning: While the Trader Joe’s one will always have my heart, Stonemill’s version has quickly become another favorite.
Instructions
- Start by toasting two hash browns. I do this first so they can cool slightly while I work on the rest of the breakfast. While the hash browns toast, cut the avocado in half. Remove the pit, then slice the avocado into strips.
- Once the hash browns are toasted, take them out and pop the bagel in the toaster. I prefer it lightly toasted, not too crispy.
- When the bagel is ready, spread cream cheese on both halves. Sprinkle a bit of everything bagel seasoning on top, then place the hash browns on each slice.
- Top the hash browns with your avocado slices and finish with a little extra everything bagel seasoning.
And that’s it! This was pretty much the only meal I ate during my senior year of college, and I’m sure it’ll quickly become your new favorite too.
