Rolled Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients List
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
2 teaspoons baking powder
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
⅓ cup shortening
-
½ cup milk
-
2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Use a pastry blender to cut in the shortening until the mixture forms coarse crumbs. Gradually add milk, stirring until a firm dough comes together.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 1-inch squares, diamond shapes, or strips as desired.
In a saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil. Gently drop in the dumplings, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until the dumplings are tender.
