Gather all the necessary ingredients before you begin.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles in the boiling water until they are tender but still firm, about 7 to 9 minutes. Drain well.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Sauté the onions in the hot butter until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the ground beef in small pieces; cook and stir until browned and crumbled, about 5 to 7 minutes.
