1 ½ pounds bratwurst sausages

1 medium onion, sliced

½ cup water, or as needed (Optional)
Cooking Instructions

Combine sauerkraut and brown sugar in a medium-sized bowl.

Transfer the sauerkraut mixture into the slow cooker, then layer sausages and onions on top. Cook on High for 2 hours, checking for dryness and adding water if needed.

Lower the heat to Low and continue cooking for another 2 hours.
