Ingredients Needed

1 ½ pounds round steak

1 medium green bell pepper

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 (29 ounce) can diced tomatoes

¼ cup soy sauce

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon ground ginger

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

4 tablespoons cornstarch
-
1 cube beef bouillon cube
-
2 cups warm water
-
2 cups hot cooked rice, or as needed
Instructions

Trim excess fat from the steak and slice it into thin strips, about 2-3 inches long. Remove the seeds and core from the bell pepper, then slice it into strips of similar size.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add bell pepper slices and cook, stirring occasionally, until the peppers soften and the steak is browned, about 3-5 minutes.

Lower the heat and add the diced tomatoes, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger, and black pepper. Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Mix cornstarch and a bouillon cube with water, stirring until dissolved. Pour the mixture into the skillet, cover, and let simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens to a gravy-like texture, about 10 minutes.

Remove the skillet from heat and serve the steak and peppers over hot rice.
