Stir-Fried Chicken with Chinese Vegetables
Ingredients List
-
14 ounces skinless, boneless chicken breast meat - cut into bite-size pieces
-
½ cup oyster sauce
-
2 tablespoons soy sauce
-
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 large onion, chopped
-
½ cup water
-
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
-
1 teaspoon white sugar
-
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
-
1 cup snow peas
-
1 small head broccoli, cut into florets
-
3 tablespoons cornstarch
-
¼ cup water
Cooking Instructions
-
In a bowl, mix the chicken, oyster sauce, and soy sauce together until the chicken is well-coated. Set the mixture aside.
-
In a large wok or skillet, heat vegetable oil over high heat. Add garlic and onion, cooking for about 1 minute until the onion softens. Stir in the marinated chicken. Cook and stir until the chicken is browned and no longer pink, around 10 minutes.
-
Add 1/2 cup of water and season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Toss in the water chestnuts, snow peas, and broccoli. Cover and bring to a boil until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. In a separate bowl, dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup of water. Stir the mixture into the wok, cooking until the sauce thickens and clears.
