Sweet Honey-Glazed Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients List
-
1 cube chicken bouillon
-
1 (16 ounce) package frozen Brussels sprouts
-
½ pound smoked bacon, diced
-
1 large onion, minced
-
3 tablespoons honey
-
3 tablespoons soy sauce
-
½ cup raisins (Optional)
-
3 tablespoons pine nuts (Optional)
-
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
-
Bring a pot of water to a boil, then dissolve the bouillon cube in the water. Add Brussels sprouts and cook until tender, approximately 10 minutes. Drain the water.
-
In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until crispy and evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Remove the bacon and set it on a paper towel-lined plate, leaving the bacon drippings in the skillet.
-
Sauté the onion in the bacon drippings until soft and translucent, about 10 minutes. Add honey and soy sauce, stirring until the mixture begins to bubble, about 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the Brussels sprouts, bacon, raisins, and pine nuts. Continue cooking for 3 to 5 minutes until the Brussels sprouts are heated through and coated with the glaze. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
