Swiss Chard and Pasta Delight

Ingredients Needed
-
⅓ pound whole wheat spaghetti
-
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
-
1 clove garlic, minced
-
1 bunch Swiss chard, chopped
-
1 teaspoon capers
-
1 teaspoon lemon juice, or to taste (Optional)
-
salt and ground black pepper to taste
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
Instructions
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain in a colander and set aside.
-
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add Swiss chard and sauté until the stems soften. If necessary, add a splash of pasta water and cover to help steam the chard.
-
Add the drained spaghetti and capers to the skillet. Toss everything together and season with lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Top with Parmesan cheese before serving.
