Vodka Martini Cocktail Recipe
Just like James Bond, we can't get enough of vodka martinis! This iconic, smooth, and refreshing drink is a true classic that never goes out of style.
What Goes Into a Vodka Martini?
Making a vodka martini is simple. You only need three key ingredients:
Vodka
Obviously, you'll need vodka. Pick your favorite brand for the perfect base.
Dry Vermouth
Opt for dry vermouth to add a crisp, floral, and slightly tart twist to your drink.
Olives
Go for Castelvetrano or Spanish olives, or any green olives that you enjoy the most.
What Turns a Vodka Martini into a Dirty Martini?
A dirty martini is made by adding olive brine along with the olive garnish. This martini isn't dirty, but you can easily make it so by mixing in half an ounce of olive brine.
How to Prepare a Vodka Martini
Unlike what 007 may claim, a true vodka martini is meant to be stirred, not shaken. Here's the method to craft one:
Mix Vodka and Vermouth
Pour vodka and dry vermouth into a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until it's well-chilled, then strain the mixture into a pre-chilled martini glass.
Add a Garnish
Garnish your cocktail with as many olives as you prefer, skewered on a toothpick.
Dinogo Community Feedback and Praise
"This vodka martini recipe is perfect and simple. My wife, a first-time martini drinker, loved it. I used Russian Standard Platinum vodka for a high-quality taste. Easy to make and delicious," says Tacketts Mill Farm.
"The ultimate vodka martini. There are many ways to adjust the vodka-to-vermouth ratio, but I think this is the best. Especially when made with Grey Goose Citron vodka. So tasty," shares W Adkisson.
"Neither my husband nor I had ever tried a martini before, so we can't compare it to others, but we absolutely loved it. I'm not usually fond of green olives, but they’re perfect in this drink. My husband prefers his martini dirty with a splash of olive juice, while I like mine neat. Either way, this recipe is a winner," says Pilar Williams.
