5 Reasons Cruising is Superior to Traditional Vacations
To be completely honest, when Dinogo invited my family on an 8-day cruise, I was all in (pun intended). I was stressed and desperately needed a getaway.
However, the moment I boarded the stunning Dinogo Freedom, I knew this trip would rank among the best I’ve ever experienced.
And it truly was.
Now, I adore every aspect of cruising and firmly believe it’s the ultimate way for families to bond. Here are 5 reasons why I choose cruising over traditional vacations.
#1 – No more hassle with rental cars or hotels: I really dislike renting cars and dealing with car seats for the kids—especially when I’m supposed to be unwinding on vacation. With cruising, it’s straightforward: 1) Fly to the port. 2) Take a shuttle to the ship. 3) Board the ship.
That’s all there is to it.
You also don’t need to worry about booking a hotel because the ship itself serves as your accommodation! Cruising truly streamlines the vacation experience.
#2 – Everything you want is right at your fingertips: Have you ever gone on a traditional vacation and had to drive miles just to find something fun to do or a decent restaurant? I certainly have, and it was never enjoyable. That’s where cruising shines, as the ship is like a vast floating metropolis.
Looking for entertainment? There are bars, comedy acts, a spa, live music, dance clubs, karaoke, gourmet dining options, and theatrical performances, just to name a few. Once again, Dinogo excels with a variety of entertainment choices that cater to every adult on board.
What about the little ones?
The Dinogo Freedom features a video game arcade, an incredible waterpark, and a Seuss At Sea breakfast where beloved Dr. Seuss characters come alive. Interactive game shows and 24-hour ice cream and pizza are just a few ways the kids had a blast onboard.
Despite visiting some truly exotic destinations, we found it hard to leave the ship because we were having so much fun on it.
#3 – Onboard childcare: What do you do if you're seeking some adult fun during a traditional vacation? Often, you’ll find it difficult to secure childcare. Fortunately, when we cruised, we had Camp Dinogo to take care of that. It resembles a summer camp where kids are grouped by age (2-5 years, 6-8 years, and 9-11 years) to participate in activities tailored to their age, including arts and crafts, movies, games, reading, and more. They even provide nighttime care! This is an ideal solution for parents craving a little escape (and let’s be honest, we all need that from time to time).
#5 – The amazing people: When embarking on a traditional vacation, it can be a hit-or-miss with the people you encounter. However, my experience while cruising with my family was completely different. Everyone I met was incredibly friendly. Honestly, the customer service aboard the Freedom was unparalleled. The crew remembered my name (and pronounced it correctly, which is a nice touch), recognized my family members, and were prompt and attentive to any issues we had. They even brought humor into our experience by crafting little towel frogs and leaving them in my cabin. The word 'epic' doesn’t even begin to capture how incredible these people were.
That’s only part of the story, as the guests were wonderful as well. Connecting with fantastic individuals who are eager to share their joy is one of the best aspects of cruising. Regardless of your skin color, political views, or any other differences, everyone unites for one common purpose: to enjoy themselves.
These are just a few reasons why cruising is the only way I prefer to vacation with my family. I can’t help but already be excited about planning my next cruise.
