A new benefit from Ikon Pass provides skiers with early access to first tracks at 14 mountains

While many travelers are looking forward to summer and beach getaways, dedicated skiers and snowboarders are busy planning for next year’s ski season and eagerly anticipating the first snowfall.

Winter sports fans understand that booking the best slope-side hotels using points is much easier with advance planning, and that ski passes are also more affordable when purchased early.

The Ikon Pass team previously shared that spring skiing started early at some resorts this year. This is fantastic news for anyone who can still visit Mammoth Mountain or Squaw Valley Resorts, which will stay open until the end of May. Next season's passes can also grant you access to those mountains this year.

Now, Ikon Pass has revealed a new benefit for season pass holders that will likely have you reaching for snow pants instead of swimsuits.

The newly announced program, called Ikon Pass First Tracks, is a fresh benefit for winter 2021 and 2022 passholders. It offers exclusive early access to untouched powder and freshly groomed runs just for Ikon Pass holders, before the lifts open to the general public. Fresh snow and no crowds? Count us in!

Ikon Pass First Tracks

Ikon Pass First Tracks will be offered one designated morning each month in January, February, and March of 2022 at participating Ikon destinations during the 2021 and 2022 winter season. The specific dates will likely vary by location and will be announced (along with additional details) by November 1, 2021.

Ikon Pass First Tracks is being planned for the following 14 resorts within the Ikon Pass network in North America: Steamboat, Winter Park Resort, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resort, Stratton, Sugarbush Resort, Snowshoe, Crystal Mountain, Tremblant, Blue Mountain, Deer Valley Resort, and Solitude Mountain Resort.

This fresh powder benefit will apply to the 2021 and 2022 Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, Ikon Base Plus Pass, and Ikon Session Pass according to pass access.

Additional Benefits of Ikon Pass

Ikon Pass holders gain access to 45 mountain destinations across five continents, with the majority located in North America. This includes popular locations in the Rockies like Steamboat and Aspen Snowmass in Colorado; Alta and Deer Valley in Utah; and Taos in New Mexico. East Coast skiers can enjoy resorts like Stratton, Killington-Pico, and even Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia. However, the type of Ikon pass determines which resorts you can access.

Ikon Pass: Unlimited skiing/riding at 15 destinations, plus up to seven days at an additional 28 — with no blackout dates
Ikon Base Pass: Unlimited skiing/riding at 13 destinations, plus up to five days at another 28 — with some blackout dates
Ikon Session Pass 4-Day: Four days total at 37 destinations — with limited blackout dates

All Ikon passes include complimentary Adventure Assurance, which provides credits in case of COVID-19 related closures and the option to defer the value of an unused pass without hassle. If you decide not to ski next winter, you can defer by December 9, 2021, and receive a credit equal to your purchase price towards a 2022 to 2023 pass.
