A record-breaking waterslide, stretching an incredible 1,111 meters, has just opened in Malaysia.

Waterslides often leave you feeling like the climb was more exhausting than the ride itself, especially when it comes to time spent.

After climbing countless steps to reach the top, you might find yourself quickly splashing down into the exit pool in just a few seconds.

But that won’t be the case with a newly unveiled waterslide in Malaysia.

Stretching an impressive 1,111 meters (3,645 feet), this thrilling ride winds through the lush terrain at Penang’s ESCAPE park and is said to have broken the world record for the longest tube waterslide, surpassing the previous holder, Action Park in Vernon, New Jersey.

Unlike the inflatable version at New Jersey’s Action Park, ESCAPE’s slide is crafted from fiber-reinforced polymer and is a permanent fixture, supported by sturdy steel poles.

“Our goal was never to break the world record,” explained Sim Choo Kheng, CEO of ESCAPE’s parent company, Sim Leisure Group, in a statement. “I’m often surprised by how short some rides are. I wanted to create experiences that would last several minutes.”

The waterslide offers a leisurely four-minute descent, winding its way down a 70-meter slope as it takes riders through lush jungle surroundings.

No heavy breathing here – visitors can access the slide effortlessly via a cable car chairlift.
