Accessing Five-Star Resort Amenities Without an Overnight Stay

Everyone deserves a getaway. If an overnight stay isn’t in your plans, the booking platform ResortPass allows you to enjoy luxury amenities like spa treatments, beach access, and pool facilities in over 250 cities across the U.S., with prices starting at just $25.
How does ResortPass function?
Founded in May 2016 by entrepreneur Amanda Szabo, ResortPass collaborates with more than 1,000 hotels nationwide. The process is straightforward: enter a city, state, or zip code, and the platform displays related hotels and their available offers. From there, simply browse, select a date, and make your purchase. (Note: New users must create a free account.)
What are the benefits and drawbacks of ResortPass?
Michelle Baran, the senior travel news editor at Dinogo, is a user of ResortPass who appreciates the platform when she and her family can't manage an overnight stay. This past May, she booked a cabana pool day pass at Bann at Oak Knoll in Napa.
“We indulged in pastries, waffles, coffee, juice, and congee topped with shrimp. The cabana included an afternoon tea service, so after a few hours by the pool, we enjoyed more food [the hotel provided a tray of fruit along with sweet and savory snacks] before the one-hour drive back home. Since we opted for the added brunch, the total came to around $500, which isn't exactly cheap. However, there are numerous ways to use ResortPass for much less if you just want to unwind by a resort pool,” Baran shares.
Regarding the downsides of ResortPass, she mentions that availability can be unpredictable: “You can’t be sure which hotels will offer passes and what type of passes will be available from one day to the next. It definitely calls for some flexibility and spontaneity to grab whatever options appeal to you.”
For those looking to use ResortPass, Baran suggests starting your search a week or two before your planned visit—especially during busy holidays when hotel availability is tight—and doing your homework on the hotels you're considering. Think about the logistics, like where you’ll change into your swimsuit and what dining options are available if you want to grab a bite during your visit.
Even though ResortPass users may need to do some extra planning to have a great experience, she still endorses it, saying, “I believe ResortPass is a fantastic way to satisfy that desire for a getaway without the actual hassle of an overnight stay.”
Where can you utilize ResortPass?
Explore the diverse experiences available through ResortPass: In Miami, at the Kimpton Surfcomber, you and seven friends can reserve a $100 cabana on a balcony with a view of the pool deck, which comes with a complimentary bottle of Gerard Bertrand champagne. Prefer the spa over the pool? For $75, you can get a day pass at the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta, granting access to the relaxation room, dry sauna, and steam room.
While some hotels and resorts let travelers book amenities directly, ResortPass provides a complete overview of all offerings at a single hotel in one city.
