Today: The refreshing summer drink that transports you to vacation mode without ever leaving your home.

Once, while at a bar, I was unexpectedly asked what my perfect daiquiri ratio would be.
It was a valid question, highlighting how knowledgeable bartenders often assess each other based on their ability to harmonize rum, lime, and sugar in a cocktail that truly shines. (For instance, the Death & Co book has an entire section dedicated to daiquiri ratios.)
I recall wanting to respond with: large, frozen, served in a bright plastic glass with a twisty straw. I aimed to set myself apart. I wanted to catch them off guard. Most nights, after a long day, I prefer to sip my first cocktail rather than dissect it. (Perhaps I'll discuss the second one.)
I can’t quite remember my exact response, but at that moment, while I was using the frozen daiquiri as a contrast to the elevated cocktail scene, I genuinely don’t believe it deserves that treatment: Frozen daiquiris are delightful. They evoke a carefree vibe and are essentially a vacation in a glass; you’re kidding yourself if you claim not to enjoy them. You can’t fool us: The combination of lime, rum, sugar, and ice is inherently appealing.
And this cocktail is designed to be incredibly easy: Just add the ingredients to a blender. Hit the blend button. Pour into a large container. Throw in a twisty straw if you like—there's no shame in being proud of the ratio.
