Andaz is making its way to Australia in 2025

The Gold Coast is about to become even more vibrant for World of Hyatt enthusiasts with the opening of the first Andaz in this coastal city next year.

Set to debut in mid-2025, Andaz Gold Coast will be part of a $1.3 billion mixed-use project called The Star Gold Coast, developed in collaboration with The Star Entertainment Group, Far East Consortium, and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, the parent company of Rosewood Hotels.

Nestled on Broadbeach Island, the resort will feature 202 rooms and suites, three yet-to-be-announced dining options, a sixth-floor pool deck with a bar, and a beach club complete with cabanas and dining facilities. The signature Andaz Lounge will also be available throughout the day for guests to enjoy drinks or snacks.

The architectural design of Andaz Gold Coast comes from Australian firm DBI Architects, while the interior design, crafted by Hachem—known for the W Melbourne—will revolve around a theme inspired by the captivating transformation of sunlight throughout the day on the Gold Coast.

"Hyatt has been a prominent name in Australia for over 40 years, and we are thrilled to enhance our luxury, lifestyle, and leisure experiences in popular locations like the Gold Coast," stated David Udell, group president of Asia Pacific at Hyatt. "This resort will add to our existing collection of 10 hotels across five unique brands in Australia, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric, and Hyatt Place."

While Australia may have to wait until next year for its first Andaz, all eyes are on Miami Beach, Florida, where the previous Confidante is set to reopen as an Andaz in December 2024. When it opens, Andaz Miami Beach will feature a completely revamped concept with 287 rooms, two pools, and fresh dining options from celebrity chef José Andrés.
