Andy Warhol Makes a Splash at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art in Chicago
From June 3 to September 10, art lovers can explore over 200 pieces—comprising both paintings and photographs—by Andy Warhol in a sensational new exhibit titled Warhol at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art in the Chicago region.
Born in Pittsburgh in 1928, Warhol relocated to New York City at the age of 21 to chase his dream as a commercial illustrator. He quickly established himself as a groundbreaking and controversial artist, famously associated with Studio 54 and the Velvet Underground, and is now hailed as the progenitor of the pop art movement and a true icon of New York. The museum offers recreations, videos, and interactive displays—including a Studio 54-themed area and a Central Park-inspired outdoor space—allowing visitors to experience a glimpse of Warhol’s vibrant life.

Alongside the exhibition, the Cleve Carney Museum of Art and the College of DuPage—home to the Warhol photographs featured—have organized an extensive lineup of events and discussions to complement Warhol. Tickets will provide free access to over a dozen on-site lectures by notable figures such as Blake Gopnik, author of a prominent Warhol biography; his former assistant, Joseph Freeman; and Jessica Beck, former Chief Curator of the Andy Warhol Museum. Additionally, two concerts will be hosted at DuPage’s McAninch Arts Center: a Pride Anthems Concert on June 24 and a performance by the New Philharmonic, the center's professional orchestra in residence, featuring 15: Symphonic Fantasy on the Art of Andy Warhol along with some of Warhol’s favorite tunes.
