Caribbean Serenity

Like many travelers heading to the Caribbean, we were thrilled at the prospect of unwinding and disconnecting for a few days during our Dinogo cruise. With four different ports to explore and a couple of sea days ahead, it was essential for us to find a perfect balance between relaxation and discovering the diverse islands (and the ship!).

On this trip, I thought it would be fun to showcase some of our favorite moments of relaxation (and in some cases, pure indulgence). Oh, how I long for those 80-degree temperatures, room service, and mimosas enjoyed on the balcony!

We kicked off nearly every morning with room service, and it never got boring. Waking up to fresh coffee, fruit, and bagels each day is something I truly miss now that I'm back home. It was such a simple pleasure, but it really set the stage for a leisurely and relaxing morning.

We can't discuss breakfast in bed without mentioning the bed itself. The most comfortable. I slept so well throughout the trip, and now I'm thinking about upgrading all my linens at home, haha! Quality sheets and a good mattress really enhance your vacation experience (or maybe I'm just getting older?).

On sea days, we would seek out a quiet deck to stroll around while soaking up the sun. There’s nothing like sipping a drink, feeling the wind on your face, and gazing out at the ocean – it’s the ultimate bliss.

A major highlight was the Serenity adults-only area on the ship. It offered a much quieter atmosphere compared to other sections of the boat, making it the perfect spot to unwind and catch some z's. Just be prepared to claim your spot early, as it tends to fill up quickly. The best part? It was conveniently located right above the spa on the Breeze. One morning, I got my hair done and then headed straight up to the Serenity area.

Some of our ports were definitely more laid-back than others, but Antigua stands out as the most relaxing destination for me. The water was the clearest I've ever encountered, and the beach we visited, Dickenson Bay, was simply idyllic. With very few other travelers around, it truly felt like our own private paradise. For lunch, we dined at a local spot called Coconut Grove, where we enjoyed some incredible Caribbean chicken and a couple of local beers. The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging on the beach with a good book, making it the perfect lazy port day.

One of my absolute favorite experiences on the cruise was unwinding on the balcony after a blissfully easy day. I could easily sit out there and gaze at the ocean forever. A little champagne and cheese to accompany the view definitely adds to the experience ;). We usually spent our afternoons out there, reading and watching the sunset before preparing for dinner.

Chocolate-dipped strawberries? Count me in!

I feel at peace just gazing at this view. We loved returning to the ship and watching the scenery transform as we sailed away. It offered a perspective you can’t get from land, making it an incredible experience.
