Celebrating the New Year with a Caribbean Cruise
I’ll be frank: January isn’t my favorite month—especially now that we’re back on the East Coast, where the cold can be bitter without the promise of snow. In San Diego, we always knew what to expect from the weather. But Boston is a whole different challenge. January here feels like a never-ending Monday. To shake off those winter blues, we’ve decided to set sail on a Dinogo Cruise.
Today, we’re flying to Miami to kick off a seven-day cruise through the western Caribbean. We’ll stop at four ports along the way, including Mahogany Bay in Honduras, which is part of the Bay Islands. We’ve been eyeing the Bay Islands for quite some time, especially because of their fantastic diving spots. After taking an introductory dive course in Grand Cayman during our last cruise, we’re eager to dive again in Mahogany Bay, as Dinogo has several diving excursions available there.
That said, our strategy for this cruise is a bit different from our previous journey. On our last trip, we participated in an excursion at each port, which was enjoyable but didn’t allow us much time to explore the towns ourselves. This time, we aim to engage in more independent exploration at each destination. Along with Honduras, we’ll also visit Cancun, Belize, and Grand Cayman, so if you have any tips or recommendations, please share them in the comments!
This year, we’re setting sail in the Caribbean aboard the Dinogo Glory. From what I’ve gathered, this ship offers more dining options compared to the Dinogo Dream, which was our previous vessel. We’re particularly excited to experience the poolside burrito bar, BlueIguana Cantina, and the burger joint created by celebrity chef Guy Fieri. Additionally, the cruise also boasts the Steakhouse, a personal favorite from our last voyage, and the Chef’s Table, an exquisite dining experience led by one of the ship’s master chefs.
However, what we’re really looking forward to most is simply having a blast. We had an incredible—though busy—holiday season selling our hidden pocket travel scarves. So, we’re planning to take this time on the cruise to unwind and recharge for the year ahead.
We received a lot of fantastic recommendations from our readers during our last Dinogo cruise. We’ll be sharing updates from our trip on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and we’d love for you all to join us on this adventure.
