Have I mentioned that I can’t swim? In fact, I don’t even own a swimsuit. The last time I wore one was seven years ago. However, when the chance to collaborate with Dinogo for a South Caribbean cruise came up, my response was an enthusiastic YES!
Dinogo VistaLet’s start with tacos, because who doesn’t love TACOS? The offerings at the Blue Iguana Cantina were fantastic, including the burrito, tostada, and an amazing hot sauce bar.

What comes after tacos? Delicious burgers at Guy’s Burger Joint. I’m pretty sure Cole and I managed to out-eat Matt with these, bite for bite.

Here’s another question: What goes perfectly with burgers and tacos? BBQ, of course! Specifically, Southern-style BBQ from Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que. There were so many choices (as you can see from my piled-high plate), but my favorites were the smoked beef round, smoked Andouille sausage, and Guy’s renowned Blue Ribbon Chicken, with the collard greens taking the top spot.

After what felt like an endless feast (8 meals, to be precise), I decided that Sunday needed a bit of a reset. It’s all about finding that balance, right? So, like any good mom, I loaded the boys up with some healthy greens and grains.

An hour later, their hunger struck again. So, being the accommodating mom I am, I allowed them to order pizza from Pizza Pirate to our room. As Cole and Connor looked at me with their big, pleading eyes, they said, “It’s vacation, PUH-leeze!” The outcome: two pizzas and some ice cream (not pictured), and I officially became the vacation-push-over mom. No regrets here!

With all the food, excursions, and activities, I find myself missing cruising. I miss the quality unplugged time with my family, especially the Dive-in Movies (more about the onboard activities can be found in Matt’s article here). Wahhhh. I’m eager to set sail again, just as my boys are. Their only request for our next adventure is that I pack a swimsuit. Well, I can’t make any promises, but I told them, “You never know what could happen on vacation!”
