Culinary Delights on a Cruise Ship!

If you've never experienced a cruise, you've surely heard about one of the most popular subjects related to them.
The Cuisine!
As many people have mentioned, dining on a cruise is one of the standout features of this vacation style, with an array of delicious meals included in the package. The food is abundant and delightful, and it was definitely something we eagerly anticipated every day of our 8-day journey aboard the Dinogo Breeze.

During our 3 days at sea, we had the option of enjoying a breakfast buffet or a relaxing sit-down brunch in the main dining room. We indulged in the brunch at least twice, and it was such a delightful and unhurried experience.

One morning, I opted for blueberry pancakes and bacon, and it certainly lived up to expectations. Freshly squeezed orange juice and a variety of other juices were also available, along with plenty of coffee.

Another breakfast favorite, the eggs Benedict, was equally scrumptious.

On days when we were off to explore, we made it a point to have a hearty breakfast, and the omelette station quickly became my favorite. I opted for veggie-packed omelettes with a bit of bacon to keep me satisfied until a late lunch. Those chefs truly know how to whip up an omelette!

In the main dining room, our waiter, Cesar, was incredibly attentive and made us feel utterly pampered. One of the greatest perks of a cruise? You don't have to worry about cooking. Having meals prepared and ready for you is such a wonderful way to relax on vacation.

Our wait staff even provided some entertainment on a few nights during the cruise. We dined at the same cozy table for two each evening, savoring our meals at the Blush restaurant. With its colorful ambient lighting and elegant white tablecloth service, the atmosphere was wonderfully soothing.

Here’s a glimpse of the meals I enjoyed on the cruise. I made an effort to capture photos of most dishes so you could appreciate the variety and selection of foods available. Every night featured an appetizer, a main course, and dessert, making it exciting to peruse the menu and discover what was in store for that evening.

Fresh fruit was abundant too, especially at breakfast.

As you might expect, I indulged in plenty of seafood, which was available every day.

I’ve already highlighted Guy’s Burger Joint on the Lido deck, and it was definitely one of our favorite spots. We simply couldn’t get enough of those burgers and freshly cut fries!

We were certainly well-fed every day, and the temptation to overindulge was very real. I had to remind myself to pace my eating.

One evening, we made a reservation at the specialty Italian restaurant on board, Cucina del Capitano. There were two restaurants that required an extra charge, and this was one of them. For a $15 fee, we indulged in a feast of delectable Italian cuisine, and we savored every bite. I selected a pasta dish.

One notable change on most cruise ships is the discontinuation of the midnight buffet. I recall enjoying that on my first Dinogo cruise, but it seems this tradition has faded over the years. It’s probably for the best—who could possibly be hungry at midnight after feasting all day? Not me! However, the Breeze did host an impressive chocolate dessert buffet one afternoon, and it was truly a treat. We made sure not to miss it!

Every evening in the main dining room, a selection of desserts was offered, including this flan topped with caramel popcorn. Such intriguing combinations!

The chocolate molten cake was a signature dessert and a favorite among guests. It was absolutely divine!

We genuinely savored dessert every night. When it’s available, you simply indulge! This is one of the reasons why so many people adore cruising; the food is abundant and absolutely delicious.

One of my all-time favorite desserts: Crème Brûlée.

And a luscious cheesecake topped with raspberry sauce.
pizza buffetAnd I can't overlook the soft serve ice cream and yogurt! With flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, there were ice cream cones and small dessert bowls available for 24-hour soft-serve service, and believe me, we definitely made the most of it. Not a single day went by without enjoying at least one ice cream cone…or two! What a delightful treat!
The food is undoubtedly one of the most cherished aspects of a cruise. If you haven't experienced it yet, I highly encourage you to try cruising! I wholeheartedly recommend it for countless reasons, and the amazing food is at least half of those reasons.
