Deal alert: Snag up to 100,000 bonus United miles with this limited-time opportunity
Attention, United MileagePlus members: You can rack up significant bonus miles in the next few weeks by booking a cruise.
On Thursday, United Cruises unveiled a limited-time promotion that offers up to 100,000 bonus United miles and additional perks when you book with select luxury cruise lines.
That’s a substantial number of United MileagePlus miles. According to TPG, United MileagePlus miles are valued at 1.35 cents each, making 100,000 miles worth $1,350 based on their assessment.
Additionally, these bonus miles are separate from the standard United miles you earn when booking via United Cruises. Members earn up to 4 miles for every dollar spent on cruise fares, with a cap of 25,000 miles per booking.
Moreover, if you use a United MileagePlus credit card for your booking, you can rack up even more miles. Members earn up to 7 miles per dollar spent on cruise fares, up to a maximum of 45,000 miles per booking.
In other words, with some cruise bookings under this new promotion, you could potentially earn a total of up to 145,000 United miles.
Additional benefits from this offer include early booking discounts, onboard credits, and extra perks.
The bonus miles and extra perks are available when you book a select cruise with the following brands:
- Azamara Cruises: Earn up to 55,000 bonus United miles, plus a 20% early booking discount and up to $650 in onboard credits.
- Oceania Cruises: Earn up to 55,000 bonus United miles, plus up to 40% off cruise fares, additional benefits, and free gratuities.
- Regent Seven Seas Cruises: Earn up to 100,000 bonus United miles, plus 5% off fares, extra savings, and up to $700 in onboard credits.

- Windstar: Earn up to 10,000 bonus United miles, plus complimentary upgrades and up to $500 in onboard credits.
Keep in mind that not every sailing offered by these five brands includes a bonus miles promotion. You’ll need to browse the sailings listed on the United Cruises website to discover which ones qualify.
Furthermore, you must act quickly to secure the bonus miles. This enhanced mileage promotion is available only until August 31, 2024.
Overview of the bonus mile offer
Some important notes about the offer: Miles are earned per cabin and are credited to only one passenger for each cruise booking. Additionally, bookings must be made through the United Cruises program to qualify.
Moreover, the miles earned through this promotion are calculated based on the total price of the cruise, excluding port charges, port fees, and taxes.
Additional terms and conditions:
- You need to provide your United MileagePlus number to United Cruises before you board.
- Miles will be credited to members' accounts six to eight weeks after the cruise is completed.
- This offer is valid only for new bookings.
- Cruises must be paid for in U.S. dollars.
- The offer is subject to availability and has limited capacity.
- This offer may be modified or withdrawn at any time without prior notice.
Additionally, the base miles you earn when booking, apart from any bonus miles, are determined by:
- 2 miles per dollar spent on an interior or ocean-view cabin without a United MileagePlus credit card
- 4 miles per dollar spent on a balcony cabin or suite without a United MileagePlus credit card
- 4 miles per dollar spent on an interior or ocean-view cabin with a United MileagePlus credit card
- 7 miles per dollar spent on a balcony cabin or suite with a United MileagePlus credit card
As mentioned earlier, only the dollars spent on cruise fares will earn miles, excluding taxes, fees, and port charges.
Which credit card is best for booking?
As mentioned earlier, you can enhance your earnings by using a United MileagePlus credit card, such as the United Club℠ Infinite Card, which provides 2 miles for every dollar spent on cruises. This card currently offers 80,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 within the first three months of account opening.
If you don’t possess a United card, consider using a card that provides bonus points on cruises. A great alternative is the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, which earns 2 points for every dollar spent on travel, including cruises. At present, you can earn 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 within the first three months of opening your account, plus a $300 statement credit for Chase Travel℠ purchases in the first year.
