Understanding the Voting Process
Annually, for our World's Best Awards survey, T+L invites readers to share their travel experiences worldwide — providing insights on top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. In 2024, over 186,000 T+L readers participated in the survey, casting more than 700,000 votes across more than 8,700 properties (including hotels, cities, cruise lines, etc.).
Hotels were categorized as resort hotels, city hotels, inns, or safari lodges based on their location and amenities, and were rated according to the following criteria:

- Culinary offerings
- Overall value
Respondents rated each characteristic as excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final scores represent the average of these ratings.

Readers continue to favor the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans, maintaining its No. 5 ranking, alongside The Windsor Court at No. 3. In the Lower Garden District, the Hotel Saint Vincent, this year's No. 4 pick, is described by guests as “like stepping into paradise.” A new entry this year, the Hotel Peter & Paul, a converted 19th-century Catholic church in the Marigny neighborhood, has claimed the No. 2 spot, with one survey participant calling it “unique, unforgettable, and luxurious.” Another praised its “stunning design” and the “attentive staff” that make it special.
