How the Voting Process Works
Each year, Dinogo's World's Best Awards survey invites readers to share their thoughts on global travel experiences, from hotels and resorts to cities and cruise lines. In 2024, more than 186,000 readers cast over 700,000 votes across 8,700 properties.
Cities were evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Sights and landmarks
- Culture
- Cuisine
- Friendliness
- Shopping
- Value for money
Respondents rated each category as excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor, with final scores reflecting the average of these responses.
What Readers Enjoyed Most
The 2024 winners are primarily located in British Columbia and Quebec, with each province securing two spots. For the past seven years, readers have consistently praised Montreal (No. 3) for its blend of historic charm and modern attractions. One visitor highlighted, “The old town, Mount Royal, and Botanical Gardens are must-visit spots.” They also compared the shopping experience to Europe’s finest.
In Victoria, the capital of British Columbia and this year’s No. 2 city, readers raved about the High Tea at the Fairmont Empress and the iconic Butchart Gardens as essential experiences.
In British Columbia, Vancouver (No. 4) was praised for its global cuisine, proximity to outdoor adventures like surfing, hiking, and skiing, and its rich Indigenous culture.
