Disney is introducing two exciting new fireworks shows this year

Although both Disney World and Disneyland have reopened, the magic didn't return all at once.

Fortunately, more attractions, hotels, and dining venues are gradually reopening, and the parks are reintroducing signature experiences—such as Disney's beloved fireworks shows.

Recently, Disney revealed the eagerly anticipated return of fireworks this summer. Additionally, this fall, guests can look forward to two new fireworks shows launching for the 50th-anniversary celebration.

Beginning July 1, 2021, nightly fireworks will light up the skies at Epcot and Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Plus, on July 4, Disneyland will also resume its fireworks displays.

As per Disney, here are the shows that guests can look forward to at each park this summer upon their return:

• "Happily Ever After" at Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom
• "EPCOT Forever" at Epcot's World Showcase Lagoon
• "Mickey's Mix Magic" over Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland

Visitors attending the park in October for Disney's 50th-anniversary celebration will also have the opportunity to experience two new shows: Disney Enchantment and Harmonious.

Starting October 1, Disney Enchantment will dazzle audiences with a show designed to "[inspire] everyone to believe in magic." According to Disney, it will showcase "captivating Disney music, enhanced lighting, spectacular fireworks, and — for the first time — immersive projection effects extending from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom park" in Disney World.

At Epcot's World Showcase, guests will be treated to a "musical Tour-de-Force" featuring Harmonious, which also premieres on October 1 as part of the celebration. This will be among the largest nighttime spectaculars ever designed for a Disney park.

According to Disney's website, prepare to be whisked away around the world through breathtaking visuals and the enchanting music of Disney songs. The show will also feature reimagined music in more than a dozen languages, performed by a diverse group of 240 artists from across the globe.

Fireworks have been an integral part of the Disney experience since 1957, providing an unforgettable highlight for visitors of all ages.

Some of my fondest memories include sitting in a stroller, wearing Minnie Mouse ears, mesmerized by the bursts of light in the night sky, convinced that magic was real and I had a front-row seat to it all. Nearly 20 years later, my love for Disney and fireworks endures, showcasing the lasting impression they’ve made on me.

The revival of fireworks at Disney marks an exhilarating step forward after a year of uncertainty about whether we would ever return to the experiences we cherished before the pandemic. If you can't wait to feel the magic, you can catch a recorded version of "Happily Ever After" online. Disney has also announced plans to offer live streams this summer, allowing people at home to join in on the excitement.

Disney has made significant strides to swiftly ease COVID-19 restrictions and ensure that everyone’s visits are as enchanting (while still prioritizing safety) as possible. Masks are no longer required in most areas for fully vaccinated guests, and Disneyland has officially welcomed out-of-state visitors once again.
