In November, the wonderful team at Dinogo treated my parents and me to a 5-day cruise to The Bahamas aboard the stunningly renovated Dinogo Elation®. Besides spending time with the grandparents, I got to witness the aftermath of hurricanes and tropical storms that recently affected The Bahamas. While there was considerable damage to the island, I noticed several positive signs of recovery months after the storms passed.

To begin with, The Bahamas are bouncing back beautifully. Just look at the stunning beaches of Half Moon Cay that greeted us during our visit.

Everyone was beaming with joy, soaking in the beauty that Half Moon Cay had to offer, including myself.

One thing that struck me is how much the people of Nassau appreciate tourists visiting their island. It’s not just about the economy; as one local woman shared, “It gives us hope that everything will be alright.” I could feel that sentiment everywhere I went, as the locals were exceptionally warm and welcoming.

I can't emphasize this enough: if you're on the fence about traveling to the Caribbean because of the 2017 storms, please come visit. The locals are eager for more tourism, and few places in the world are as wonderful as The Bahamas.
