For $191,000, you can experience the New Year twice | Dinogo

Some people prefer to cozy up on the couch, enjoy a few movies, sip champagne, and drift off before midnight on New Year’s Eve.
This experience is not meant for them.
This journey – a flight from Sydney to Los Angeles aboard the world’s fastest long-range private jet – is tailored for those who want to celebrate 2017 in grand style, then do it all over again as they cross the International Date Line.
Travel back in time
Offered by private jet charter company PrivateFly, this one-way trip lets travelers usher in 2017 twice—first in Sydney, and again in Los Angeles, where the clock lags 19 hours behind Sydney’s local time.
So far, no one has signed up for the trip. While there has been interest in both years, no one has actually made a booking, despite PrivateFly offering the same journey last year.
Last-minute luxury
That doesn’t mean no one will bite. Private jet bookings tend to happen on short notice; the flexibility to set your own schedule is a major perk, according to Carol Cork, PrivateFly’s marketing director.
“Typically, people book four to five days before their flights. Many private aviation clients don’t like to plan too far in advance, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we end up booking flights right up to New Year’s Eve,” Cork said.
Travelers will be in charge of their own festivities in Sydney and Los Angeles, but in-flight celebrations – complete with top-tier wine, champagne, and gourmet catering – are all part of the package.
The flight time aboard the G650ER is approximately 12 hours. Commercial airlines take closer to 14 hours, and there are no direct flights available at times that would let travelers experience the New Year twice.
Among PrivateFly’s New Year’s Eve bookings were: a round-trip flight for 12 from Los Angeles to Hawaii and a round-trip flight from Pittsburgh to New York for a group of 8.
Happy 2017 to all the jet-setters out there!
